Nexus. WakeJumper's Hospital. Fallen Kingdoms and Rescued Princess
knock: *faint but insistent. Is happening at the hospital door shortly after WakeJumper and the boys left for the pits to watch the start of the multiversal battle tournament*
Eclipse: *hurrying from her lab to answer the door*
woman: *looks up with a startled face as the door opens. Is tall and slender, with long white hair and misty blue eyes set in features that look Japanese* *quietly, as she shifts her grip on a largish bundle that she's holding* I seek one named WakeJumper.
Eclipse: *apologetically* I'm sorry, but WakeJumper's at the tournament... I'm his wife. Maybe I can help?
woman: *studies the features of the large being uncertainly* You are Eclipse?
Eclipse: *nods* Yes.
woman: *offers the bundle* Then I can give this to you.
Eclipse: *blinks and reaches for the bundle* Who sent this?
woman: *gives the bundle, and then steps back to bow* The Daimyo of the Sea Kingdom has fallen. He begs that his brother will protect and care for this last child.
bundle: *small squirm*
Eclipse: *blink blink* Daimyo of the Sea Kingdom? *attention going to the bundle, will scan it*
bundle: *is a very VERY angry and slightly frightened six year old girl*
woman: Yes. WakeJumper. He and his son fell before the Dark Tide this morning at dawn. *is growing misty and harder to sense*
Eclipse: *soothing clicks for the child, attention going to the woman* *soft squeak*
woman: *softly, her voice sighing away like the tide* She is all that is left... *and now she herself has blown away like sea mist*
Eclipse: ... *doing her best to squash the reflexive spazzfit reaction* *will move to bring the little girl indoors, circulating slowly*
girl: *squirms again, fighting as best she can against wrappings that hold her totally immobile*
Eclipse: *more soothing clicks, will begin gently unwrapping the little girl*
girl: *hands free!* *and you've just been hit in the face with scalding water, Eclipse*
Eclipse: *squeal!*
girl: *kicks herself out of the rest of the wrappings, her orange eyes flared up like little suns as her black hair stands on end with her anger*
Eclipse: *hesitantly* Hi.
girl: *angry scowl* I want to go back to my father and mother! Now!
Eclipse: *quietly* I don't think that's possible...
girl: *hands raising as heat and moisture gather around her* No! I have to go back! I can fight too!
Eclipse: *cringing slightly* The lady who brought you here said that your father asked that my husband and I take care of you...
girl: Stupid seawater! What does it... ahh! *just tripped over a large, golden seal that came out of her wrappings*
Eclipse: *moves to catch the girl so she doesn't hurt herself* *soothing clicks*
girl: *staring at the seal, her pretty little face emotionless as the fire dies from her eyes*
knock: *sounds at the door*
Eclipse: Wait here... *moves to answer the door*
parchment: *hastily folded and laying on the doorstep in what looks like a fading sunbeam*
Eclipse: *will reach for the parchment after scanning for LOLs*
parchment: *is a letter in quickly formed letters that resemble beautifully flowing katakana. A scent clings to it, like flowers in the warm sun*
Eclipse: *blinks and studies the letter, mostly to see if it's for her or for the girl*
parchment: *is a letter from Eclipse's alternate, one that beseeches her little daughter to live, and to be safe there in her uncle's household, and to be good. Also says how much she loves her child and looks forward to seeing her again someday in the court before the Throne* *ends suddenly*
Eclipse: *intakes hitch, will bring the letter to the little girl*
girl: *takes the letter and reads it, then curls up around it and tries to keep her shoulders from shaking*
Eclipse: *soft, soothing clicks, will begin humming the only lullaby she knows*
girl: *looks up at her, eyes only golden now, and dull with shock and sadness*
Eclipse: *offers cuddles*
girl: *turns her face away* *body language says that she feels she's being very rude and doesn't like it, but doesn't feel able to stop herself*
Eclipse: *soft hum. Will put an order in at the blanket factory for delivery. Will also put in an order at the Black Dog, after asking Gawl to deliver it*
girl: *voice in tight control* Please forgive me, Auntie.
Eclipse: *gently* It's alright.
girl: *softly* I... I am the Sea King's daughter. I must behave... with grace. *trying so hard not to cry*
Eclipse: *still gentle* It's alright to get upset about things. And it's perfectly alright to cry if you need to.
girl: *quietly* It won't make them come back.
Eclipse: *quietly* No... but keeping feelings bottled inside isn't a good thing to do.
girl: *looks up, frowning* I do not understand.
Eclipse: Holding the hurt, upset, and anger inside just makes it more likely that it'll come out later and hurt someone else.
girl: *eyes widen* Did I hurt you, Auntie?
Eclipse: I was more startled than hurt.
girl: I'm glad. *looks down, but then startles slightly as the door opens*
Eclipse: *also startles, moving to put herself between the girl and the door*
Kimahri: *looks in* Blanket?
Eclipse: *relaxing* Yes. Thanks, Kimahri. *will move to pay for the blanket and delivery*
Kimahri: *takes the money, then bows slightly and turns to go. Has a little black-haired child in the sling on his back*
Eclipse: *blink, small smile* Aww.
Kimahri: *pauses and looks back* *?*
Eclipse: Your little girl is adorable, Kimahri.
Kimahri: *pleased rumble. Nods and turns once more to go*
tiny girl: *now pouty scowling at you, big lady she doesn't know. Will pouty scowl all the way out of sight*
Eclipse: *very soft chuckle, will return to the girl. Offers the blanket*
girl: *startles and looks up, then accepts the soft fleece blanket with thanks before studying it with puzzled eyes*
Eclipse: It's something nice to wrap yourself in when you're cold or need something soft to hold. Or, according to my son and his brother, a super hero cape...
girl: What is a super hero? *rubs her fingers on the blanket, and then pulls it around her shoulders with a shaky sigh*
Eclipse: A super hero is someone who puts their own needs and well-being aside to help people in need.
girl: *looks down, pulling the blanket closer* Mother, Father, and Big Brother didn't have capes.
Eclipse: Not all super heroes have capes.
girl: Oh. *shaky sigh, and then a startle as something bounces off the door*
Eclipse: *sigh* And sometimes, they're prone to running into things. *will go to answer the door*
Gawl: Vneaht, I'm not talking to you. *looks up and grins* Hi, Eclipse!
Vneaht: *laying right in the road, beside Gawl's one wheeled skateboard* :3
Eclipse: Vneaht, did you do "Suddenly, KITTY!" again?
Vneaht: *sign* "Kitty toy book."
Eclipse: *headshake* *will scan Gawl*
Gawl: No way. It's the 'Ever After High' books. *not hurt*
Eclipse: *credit chit out* Gawl, you have a delivery for me?
Gawl: *pulls large parcel out of his pocket* Yup! Right here. *grin*
Eclipse: Alright. *pays Gawl for delivering her order, which she paid for at the time of placing it*
Gawl: Thanks!
Vneaht: "Kitty toy book is FUNNY."
Gawl: No it's not. I do that stuff all the time.
Vneaht: *rolls around!*
Eclipse: *amused snort, will move to head back inside*
girl: *sitting quietly on folded legs, her head bowed and her eyes gazing at nothing as she holds the blanket around herself*
Eclipse: *gently* Would you like something to eat?
girl: *looks up* No thank you, Aunty. Not right now.
Eclipse: *small nod* Alright, well, when you feel up to it, there is food. *will move to put the order in the stasis chest*
girl: *softly* Yes, Aunty.
mama'Hide: *ping*
Eclipse: *finger to audial* //Yes, Ironhide?//
mama'Hide: //What are you fussing about? Wake's too twitchy to even laugh about this match.//
Eclipse: *sends mama'Hide an image of the girl, and explains the situation* //She's the last of her family.//
mama'Hide: *sharp interest in her rough voice* //Who's that?//
Eclipse: //An alternate of the daughter that some of the other WakeJumpers and other mes have. I don't know if her name's going to be the same as those daughters, but I'll find out.//
mama'Hide: //You want Wake?// *snippet of a big ugly man proposing to a big ugly woman and getting bashed for it*
Eclipse: //Not right now...
mama'Hide: //Still want me to show you Kriti's match?//
Eclipse: //Can you get me a video chip from it? I'll watch later...//
mama'Hide: //Sure. Later.//
Eclipse: //See you, Ironhide.// *soft clicks*
girl: *shivering slightly as she weeps soundlessly, but then she startles and looks toward the door as something thumps softly against it*
Eclipse: *much frown, will move to answer the door one more time*
woman: *crumpled there with her arms wrapped around herself as a small, bronze-coloured puddle forms beneath her. Is small and slightly plump, with rumpled golden hair and a thin face that's creased with pain*
Eclipse: *startled squeak, will scan the woman and call WakeJumper*
WakeJumper: //I'm putting this dope back together. What's up?//
Eclipse: *lets WakeJumper see what she's seeing*
WakeJumper: //She's got a cut on her chest, but no broken bones or internal injuries. You can suture it, Eclipse.//
Eclipse: //A-Alright.//
WakeJumper: *sends encouragement and confidence in her* //Better bring her in and get that wound washed.//
Eclipse: *nod* //O-Okay.// *will click softly and carefully lift the woman*
woman: *startles and looks up* P... princess Dropkick? Wh... where?
Eclipse: *gently* She's safe. Let's get you taken care of...
Dropkick: *standing and watching* *quietly* That's Mother's handmaiden, Legacy.
Eclipse: ... She'll be alright.
sLegacy: *relieved expression as she spots the child, and she relaxes in Eclipse's hands. Which causes the dagger she's wearing to poke the nurse in a finger joint*
Eclipse: *squeak* *will carefully reposition sLegacy before moving to bring the tiny lady to one of the examination rooms*
Dropkick: *is a small rush of water from the front room, and then she's there at the door of the examination room and peering up with a frown*
Eclipse: *soothing clicks as she gently sets sLegacy on a towel on the examination table*
sLegacy: *deep breaths, though she winces as they cause her wound to pull* If... you give me a moment... I can close this.
Eclipse: *blink* Are you sure?
sLegacy: Yes.
Dropkick: *deep, scowling frown* Cauterization hurts.
Eclipse: *small frown* I was going to clean the wound and do sutures...
Dropkick: Handmaid, you had better let Auntie tend the wound.
sLegacy: *turns her head and looks at the girl, but then nods* As... you wish.
Eclipse: *soothing clicks, will get everything she needs to clean the wound and do sutures*
Dropkick: *rises up to the table on a pillar of hot water, then steps onto the pad* *walks over and sits near sLegacy* *softly* Big brother was going to ask Mother for her.
Eclipse: *soft hum and a small nod. Then she's moving to very gently and carefully clean the gash on sLegacy's chest*
sLegacy: *quiet as the wound is tended, though her face holds the lost and empty stare of a woman in deep shock*
Eclipse: *quiet clicks as she finishes the sutures. Will place another blanket order for delivery, and send payment for it as well*
Dropkick: *shies away from a sudden wash of grey-green sparkles that appears on the table beside her*
Eclipse: *soothing clicks* It's alright.
Dropkick: *pauses and watches, then points as the sparkles die away* It's a blanket, Aunty.
Eclipse: *nods* Yes. One that got delivered by a Guardian Fae Changeling.
Dropkick: *looks up at her with that serious little face that holds its own empty and shocked expression* What is that?
Eclipse: *will begin explaining about Guardian Fae Changelings, pausing occasionally to allow questions to be asked*
Dropkick: *asks questions that show thought beyond most children her age, and is quickly satisfied* They are people like those of the kingdoms.
Eclipse: *curious* Howso?
Dropkick: *slight surprise* You said they look like us, and they can ask the world all around to do things for them. So they're like me, and not like you.
Eclipse: True... But even the most powerful Guardian Fae has limits...
Dropkick: *confused* Everyone does.
Eclipse: *will empty one of the supply totes and put a clean, soft towel inside it before gently transferring sLegacy to the improvised bed* *to Dropkick* To some, the Guardian Fae seem limitless...
Dropkick: *little sniff as she settles down on the table and vanishes into her blanket* Some things try to worship my people, too.
Eclipse: ... Good grief. Do they really have so little faith in the Creator?
Dropkick: *shrug that brings her hands out of the blanket, and then she vanishes again*
Eclipse: *soft clicks. Then* Would you like to be tucked in with Legacy?
Dropkick: No.
Eclipse: *small nod* *will wordlessly offer to carry Dropkick around*
Dropkick: *climbs into Eclipse's hands, and then cuddles down* Have you time to hold me and sing to me?
Eclipse: *quietly* I don't know the songs your mother would've sang, but I know a few songs.
Dropkick: *just snuggles*
Eclipse: *brings a chair over so she can keep an eye on sLegacy. Will quietly sing a lullaby and gently rock Dropkick*
