Ifiri are essentially fire given physical form. They start off life as wisps of flame that tend to be unusual in color (such as pink, or pale blue, or purple). As they grow older, they take on a "solid" form, somewhat resembling half-elves. If not for their unnatural hair and eye colors (almost always the color of the flame that they initially started life as), they could easily be mistaken for a half-elf.
Ifiri are a long-lived race, generally living 450-500 years, provided they don't fall to illness, injury, or drowning. Being fire-based, it's generally ill-advised for an Ifiri to be doused with water or allowed to walk out in a rainstorm without sufficient cover. Most Ifiri will instead opt to remain indoors, or have one of their companions carry their travel container, usually a fired clay jug stopped with a cork, or some other durable, waterproof container.
Most Ifiri are of a chaotic alignment, given their elemental nature. Most are Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic good, though there is the occasional one who is Chaotic Evil. Their tendency toward Chaos makes the Ifiri prone to wanderlust, and it's a rare Ifiri who will settle down in a location for more than a handful of years.
If an Ifiri is killed, roll 1 D4 and follow the following chart:
1 - Character dies as normal person, no other effects.
2 - Character vanishes in puff of flame, no trace left behind.
3 - Character burns up and leaves charred remains behind.
4 - Character explodes in massive fireball, does 2 D8 burning damage in 15-foot circle.
